Sleep Issues

I’ve now recovered from being under the weather last week (does that mean I’m over the weather? *hyuk*hyuk*), but now I’m having problems with sleeping properly. I was so sick last week–I was like an RV in bad need of motorhome repair–that I practically dozed off for days. Now my sleeping pattern is screwed. I’m awake all night and fall asleep at random hours during the day. This is probably what jet lag feels like.

I hope my Circadian rhythm gets back on track. I’m not very productive when my own body can’t even follow a schedule.

Sick as a dog

Fever, colds and a sore throat, plus dysmenorrhea and period diarrhea.

This isn’t one of my best days. I missed meeting with my brother before he leaves for the US (and his Army Navy treat), a charity activity, and my company’s Christmas party, which I’ve been looking forward to for weeks.

On the bright side, I have a handsome nurse (my husband stayed home), I can drink all the Royal Tru-Orange I want, and my dad sent me load because I’m sick (maybe to update them of my condition, I don’t know). Oh, and I slept like a log for what seemed like days that I now feel good enough to use the computer, except that I still have a jacket on.

Tomorrow should be much better.

PS. I don’t understand the expression ‘sick as a dog.’ I have three dogs, and my boys don’t get sick ever.

I hope y’all are well.

What is up with the weather??? Everyone on Facebook, Twitter, and even on the blogs I follow is down with some sort of virus or something. People at the office are sick, people are absent or are being sent home left and right.

I’m not spared, of course. I’m home sick today. Not complaining, though. I woke up to Shakey’s chicken, spaghetti, and pizza. I watched Gwyneth on Glee. I played with the cat all day. I practiced applying foundation on my sister. Plus, my mom bought a giant Vitamin-C rich papaya for me, I don’t think I’ll be needing colonetix anytime soon with all that fiber.

Take care, dear friends. Keep healthy.

Colors are good for my soul

Ogling pretty pictures online never fails to lift my spirits when I’m down. On a bad day, I can spend HOURS browsing weheartit. Right now, I’m feeling bluer than blue as I’m battling the sniffles (how crazy was yesterday’s temperature?) and since I need extra cheering up, I’m looking at pretty and colorful pictures.

Here’s what’s making me smile right now:

MAC Peacocky Collection. MAC released this just this month. I’m just starting to build up my traincase, and I’d love to have a piece or two from this collection.

Mila Kunis in Vera Wang. This green one-shoulder dress is my favorite from last weekend’s Golden Globes.

Marco Bicego Marco Bicego Paradise Double Strand Mixed Gemstone Bracelet. I saw this on everlon‘s website and I think it’s lovely.

Ada + Darcy. My boss Cassie introduced me to this interior design blog and I must say I’m hooked.

Gelato. I’m craving right now, even if I had some at Amici in Ayala Triangle Gardens last weekend. I’ll treat myself to a cup at Gelatissimo once these colds are gone.

Anyway, I hope you are all feeling well, everyone seems to be sick right now. Take extra care and extra Vitamin C, aight?

I should know when to stay home.

Warning: TMI ahead.

Today wasn’t a very good day for me at work.

While other girls have dysmenorrhea during their period, I get diarrhea. No complaints, though. I have seen how some of my friends suffer from dysmenorrhea, and it can get really nasty.

Now, I’m someone who doesn’t like missing work, mainly because I want to convert my sick leaves into cash at the end of the year. I’m also someone who thinks that diarrhea is not an to excuse to miss work. I may have to think differently now.

Today was terrible. I spent more time bonding with the Saniflo toilet at our floor’s handicap restroom than doing actual work. I had no appetite and was lethargic. By lunchtime, I was on oral rehydration salts.

Abet’s not very pleased with me right now, he tried to convince me to stay home earlier when I told him that my period diarrhea was worse than usual. It would do me good to listen to my boyfriend every once in a while.

Bloody Eyes

That’s what my officemate Gelo called me when I showed up at work looking with my right eye looking like this:
I didn’t realize that not having breakfast is dangerous to your eyes. I didn’t get to eat breakfast last Tuesday, and not long after I had a very late Jollihotdog lunch, I was puking my guts out in the restroom. Stomach acids acted up. Little did I know that throwing up (as well as giving birth , carrying a heavy load, coughing violently, or just being really, really mad) may cause the blood vessels in your eyes to rupture. That’s what happened to my right eye.

The ophthalmologist said that there’s no need to worry, it’s just like a bruise that should go away in a week with cold compress. The redness is getting lighter already.

It’s just to bad that this had to happen just before our anniversary, tsk. No googly-eyed staring at each other this year, lest Abet get nightmares of bloody-eyed me.

I really do hope this goes away before our trip, or my sister will have some major Photoshopping to do when we get back–no way am I posting pictures of me with my eye looking like a monster’s.
